Ok, I'm guessing that you have quite the setup with the mixes that your songs have here! The drum machine gives a sense of motion and conflict to the work; the juxtaposition with the minor-key piano chords works excellently. The crossing of melodic lines in the sax and clarinet adds some dark textures to the work which culminate with the unsettling clarient trills at near the end. The description you've provided sums up the song perfectly. Only thing I can add is that the sax probably needs more air at the beginning to get that warm, open sound (and I realize how hard that is to get, too!).

Thanks for the good comments mate! Well, I tell ya, I don't even have my own mixing desk! The clarinet and sax were recorded with a mic input into my Soundblaster Audigy, the piano was done with my Yamaha P80 via MIDI and line-in, and it was all EQ'd and mixed in Cubase SX to keep it all steady and give full control.
Still, I always say, it doesn't matter how you do it as long as the end product is what you want!!

starts out a bit like concierto de aranjuez with sax / clarinet then the drums kick in, melodic piano takes the forefront, blend in the clarinet/sax again making all the ingredients for a chopinesque tune.
